Why? Copyright files are already unapproachable enough with their legal
jargon. Why add markup on top of that?

I'd rather devote energy to moving such stuff out of the copyright file,
where it only belongs historically, and not logically, and putting it into
some better format, than on a seemingly-pointless xml-ization.
