true, locate doesn't find any pid.al file. How is this file created? As a post-installation processing?

about exactly how to reproduce this?

Yes, I think so. Again, if you can provide instructions about how to
reproduce the problem that will speed things up. I'm not able to
investigate this myself in detail at the moment.
