That sounds like you underestimate the work that *can* come after an upload. If people really use your modules and then start filing this nasty things called bugs. Then you have work to do. The packaging alone is easy. IMO it shouldnt be dont that way, everyone should simply package modules he uses if they arent in Debian (as its now).
