I undertstand you. I was like you last year when I wanted to have
perl-5.005 and nothing happened. Until I decided to do the necessary jobs
of testing the package, of embarassing Darren with my remark « Have you
done it ? When will you do it ? If you don't do it right now, i'll do it
for you » ... and so on.

As soon as someone is volunteering for the task of managing the upgrade...
Any volunteer here ? I don't want to take this responsibility but I'll
help anyway when it comes at doing NMUs and so on.

Hopefully. For perl-5.005 it was more than a year after the official
release IIRC. :-(
