No. OO debian-files is files just for Debian (wrapper script etc.)
It's non-trivial to exclude the ximian patches from the "standard
package" and make an extra -ximian pkg or so.
You have to build OOo 2 times for that (one time with the patches, and
one time without, and some of those patches are really useful bugfixes
etc.)

The matter with the icon is that Taste differs :)
I know many people who _like_ the "new look".
