Bug#189041: openoffice.org: openoffice cores and takes X with it -- please build a debug package
You should first just carefully read the README this team is gently
providing you here:
At least a few times now, openoffice.org has dumped core and immediately
caused the X server to abort. (XFree86 4.2.1 debian, mga G400). It
always happens when there is heavy scrolling going on in the application
(e.g. I am paging up or down very fast trying to skim a document).
Notice it is also on your machine (README.Debian).
I suspect there is a bug in the mga driver causing this, but without a
stack trace I have no idea what piece of openoffice code is prodding the
mga driver in a way that blows it up.
I do not have the diskspace or cpu on my machine to build a debug
package myself. Is it possible for debian-openoffice to provide a
precompiled debug package so that situations like mine can be more
