maintain Debian packages and I support his application to become a
Debian Maintainer.

I have worked with Ian as a colleague at Xen.org upstream for a few
years now.  I have found him to be clearheaded, competent and an asset
to our team.  As a DM he will become more of an asset to Debian too.
