Debian cdimage mirroring

Greetings fellow mirror admins!

In an attempt to improve debian cdimage availability we now have a new
cdimage.debian.org with isos and an authorative directory structure.

Now, assuming we can't convince many users that they don't really need all
the images or that jigdo is a good tool (historical evidence points to this),
it would be good if there was a decent set of mirrors of these cdimages.

This is where you come in, if you want to mirror cdimages (and have the
insane ammount of disk and bandwidth that makes it s fun thing to do) I'm
looking for three categories of mirrors:

1. Push-triggered jigdo mirrors. Basically running a mirroring script from
http://www.acc.umu.se/~maswan/debian-push/cdimage/ that gets jigdos, runs
jigdo-mirror and then does a final rsync to fix things up. This is a process
that takes about 2 hours on woody, so keeping access limits in place for
the first 4-6 hours after I get the images seems resonable.

2. Push-triggered rsync mirrors. For those that can't or don't want to
run jigdo-mirror. These will get triggered a bit later than (1) so that
the mirrors in (1) can get the jigdo files quickly. The slower might
also have to compete with the general public when public access is allowed,
I'm probably not going to wait for all of these mirrors.

3. Any other mirrors, complete or partial. Check out how the images are
laid out on http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/ these days. If you use
that naming we can make a script that makes the mirror listing up to date
which would make it much easier for the users wanting isos to find them.

All mirrors are welcome to mirror from this host if you can't find a
close one to mirror from (hopefully from category 1 or 2).

Currently there are only four push-triggered mirrors:
ftp.fi.debian.org
ftp.de.debian.org
ftp.se.debian.org
ftp.eu.uu.net

It would be good to get a few more, especially one or two in North
America as cdimage.debian.org is at the same place as ftp.se.debian.org,
that is, hosted by Academic Computer Club at Umeå University, Sweden.

Please feel free to mail me (maswan@acc.umu.se) with any comments or
issues with this. Some discussion of this could also take place on the
debian-cd@lists.debian.org mailinglist, since this is not a discussion
list. For those that IRC: #debian-mirrors on OFTC is where a bunch of
mirror admins hang out.
