beginner's brief how to

After having spent some time this week learning the very basics about debian packaging, I wrote a simple (~ 2 pages) tutorial for others in our software group to follow. A simplistic step-by-step guide without a lot of explanation. And it only covers loading necessary packages, dh_make, dpkg-buildpackage, dpkg -i, and how dpkg moves files around.

I thought that maybe, as a way to say thanks for the help from this group, it might be worth cleaning up and putting out for other greenies like me. When I started last week, I couldn't something simple like this would have been nice to get my feet wet. Rather than the heftier, but more complete manuals.

Anyway, if anyone thinks it might be of value, or wants to read and improve on it, let me know. I'd be happy to attach it.

Eric
