dpkg --build changing permissions (?)
The upstream maintainers of PostgreSQL have changed certain files to
permissions 0555, which is contrary to Debian policy.
I put commands in debian/rules to fix this, but somehow that isn't reflected
in the .deb files.
Here's an extract from the build output; commands are in the rules file.
ls -l debian/ecpg/usr/bin/ecpg
-rwxr-xr-x 1 olly olly 240464 Jul 18 08:56 debian/ecpg/usr/bin/ecpg
dpkg-deb: building package `ecpg' in `../ecpg_6.5-3_i386.deb'.
dpkg-buildpackage: full upload (original source is included)
Now running lintian...
W: ecpg: non-standard-executable-perm usr/bin/ecpg 0555 != 0755
What's going on?
