Have you tried /usr/doc/debhelper/README? And /usr/doc/debhelper/from-debstd
will be useful since you have used debstd in the past. (If you're using a
recent (>= 1.1.0) version of debhelper, refer to debhelper(1) as well, the
NOTES section has some useful info. That used to be in the README)
