I like the idea, it should be able to get to work quite simply, but it
would introduce a new dependency, and render lintian not directly
installable on woody (but you'd need to backport desktop-file-validate).
For lintian.d.o a bit more work, but I don't think it's really
prohibitive, plus sarge is going to be release soon :).
