You may also want to check out http://bisqwit.iki.fi/source/snescom.html
, a Free Software (GPLed) SNES assembler, and the demo ROM on the same
site at http://bisqwit.iki.fi/src/snescom-demo/ .  The demo ROM doesn't
explicitly say it is released under the GPL, so you should check with
the author to be sure, but they would probably be willing to GPL it,
since everything else on the site appears to be GPLed.
