I am disappointed that PostScript is considered an "opaque"
format. It is a plain ASCII vector and text description format,
though opaque bitmaps may be included. There exist Free utilities for
the manipulation of EPS and PS images for those who do not wish to
learn PostScript and manipulate the images with vi or emacs.

My friend wrote his resume in raw PostScript:

http://woozle.org/~neale/src/postscript/

I've even taken to using his skel.ps library to write a few
quick papers lately. I use nothing but a Free text editor and
Ghostscript. If those reading this mail do not have access to the Web
(as I know RMS doesn't), I would be happy to mail along the library
code (it's only 4k).
