The laptop has an S3ViRGE/MX video chip, but the proper s3virge driver isn't
quite working properly (under XFree86 v4). It tends to lock up when exiting
from X back to console. So I'm using the generic vesa driver instead for
the time being. The mouse works fine as /dev/psaux or whatever it is.
I've had no problems with pcmcia. I recompile pcmcia-modules myself to fit
my own kernel.
Sound was a bit tricky, but I think it's easier to setup in the 2.4 kernel
now than it was under 2.2.
