Hi Andrea,

In your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file, try :
Option      "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
instead of 
Option      "Protocol" "PS/2"
(IMPS/2 stands for M$'s IntelliMouse, which is a standard for most wheel
mice)
