Boot Floppy = disquet d'arranc
boot manager = gestor d'arranc
bootable = per a iniciar l'arranc

boot device = dispositiu d'arranc
bootstrap partition
= partició d'arranc
cold booting = arranc en fred
master boot record, MBR
= registre mestre d'arranc, MBR
prompt = indicatiu
1 referent a l'entrada de la consola.
2 boot prompt seria indicatiu d'arranc
stage loader = fase de càrrega
