Bug#617635: linux-image-2.6.32-5-amd64: Network connection



Can you provide a more complete kernel boot log (either from 'dmesg', or
if that does not include the first messages, from /var/log/messages)?

If you boot with the additional kernel parameter 'idle=mwait', does that
fix the problem?


Adding 'idle=mwait' solved the problem (tested with 2.6.38-2-amd64). After booting with this kernel option, I ran 6 SFTP transfers in a row and each one finished in ~7 seconds:

Booted without the 'idle=mwait' option (same kernel) and the transfer locked up for several minutes, eventually finishing after ~5 minutes:
