Linux Kernel 2.6.23 & Firewire (Juju v. IEEE 1394)

Hello All,

I am using unstable x86, with 2.6.22, and found that the IEEE 1394 has been dropped in favour of the new Juju stack. however Juju is broken in 2.6.22 and 2.6.23 (see http://wiki.linux1394.org/JujuMigration where it says "/Linux 2.6.22 and 2.6.23, the best advice to Linux distributors (kernel packagers) as well as to regular users is:/ Build only the old IEEE 1394 drivers.").

The kernel team have been fantastic over the last year+ or so with very quick releases of kernel.org kernels to unstable, often within days of upstream release; is there a reason there is no 2.6.23 yet? I see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=447682 where Martin tagged 'pending'; can someone tell me if there is something holding this back?

When there is a 2.6.23, will IEEE 1394 be re-enabled, or new patches from Juju to fix 2.6.23?

Thanks,

 James
