Package: kernel-image-2.4.27-2-sparc32, ftp.debian.org Severity: grave Tags: d-i It's impossible to do sparc32 installs, and has been for months, because: kernel-image-2.4-sparc32: Depends: kernel-image-2.4.27-3-sparc32 but it is not installable joey@kodama:~>madison kernel-latest-2.4-sparc kernel-latest-2.4-sparc | 42 | stable | source kernel-latest-2.4-sparc | 42sarge2 | proposed-updates | source kernel-latest-2.4-sparc | 42sarge2 | testing | source kernel-latest-2.4-sparc | 42sarge2 | unstable | source joey@kodama:~>madison kernel-image-2.4.27-3-sparc32 kernel-image-2.4.27-3-sparc32 | 2.4.27-9sarge2 | proposed-updates | sparc joey@kodama:~>madison kernel-image-2.4.27-2-sparc32 kernel-image-2.4.27-2-sparc32 | 2.4.27-2 | sarge-r0 | sparc kernel-image-2.4.27-2-sparc32 | 2.4.27-9sarge1 | stable | sparc kernel-image-2.4.27-2-sparc32 | 2.4.27-12+b1 | testing | sparc kernel-image-2.4.27-2-sparc32 | 2.4.27-12+b1 | unstable | sparc An updated kernel-image-2.4-sparc32 was uploaded to stable and reached unstable since that version was newer than anyhing in unstable. The new version was for the -3 abi version of the kernel, which for sparc32, has for some reason not reached unstable/testing even though it is available in proposed-updates. Either the version in proposed-updates should be added to unstable too, or a new version uploaded. Until this happens, sparc32 installs will not be possible (unless we finally get a 2.6 kernel that can support sparc32). -- see shy jo
