Hi Christoph, *.I'm not really sure if i did understand that correctly. Do you think that the virtual i/o server for pSeries (i.e. IBM OpenPower) MUST run under AIX? That's not true.
We have the virtual i/o server and the LPARs (virtual partitions) on OpenPower 720 both running under Debian. No need for any other (curious) operating system/kernel!
And if the patch is neccessary for the virtual i/o server (driver: ibmvscsis), then the patch is neccessary for us.
