Bug#302622: kernel-image-2.6.11: VGA mode console doesn't work with current svn version of configs 05/04/01

I compiled 2.6.11 using k7 config from today's kernel-image on svn. 

VGA consoles don't work. Mode set to 791. Chipset VT8378 [S3 UniChrome] Integrated Video (rev 01)
Works with 2.6.10 and previous. Screen blank until X comes up.
