Bug#275630: kernel-image-2.6.8-1-686: Does not recognize RTL8139 ethernet controller
Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-1-686
Version: 2.6.8-3
Severity: normal
The Debian 2.6 kernel does not recognize
an ethernet controller that the 2.4.27 kernel does.
It's a common, cheap card, and not too old,
so it would make sense to support it.
(Below is from /proc/pci on 2.4):
Bus 2, device 10, function 0:
Ethernet controller: D-Link System Inc RTL8139 Ethernet (rev 16).
IRQ 11.
Master Capable. Latency=32. Min Gnt=32.Max Lat=64.
I/O at 0xd800 [0xd8ff].
Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xfeafec00 [0xfeafecff].
Fgreps of syslog reveal no recognition of the card:
# fgrep 8139 /var/log/syslog
# fgrep eth1 /var/log/syslog
#
