I see.

I'm not familiar with swsusp. However, from what I read on the swsusp.sf.net
page it seems that a kernel option is needed to point at the swap partition.
Is it even possible to still use swsusp after running an initrd?

If yes, can one also use swsusp with the saved image on lvm device?
If not, then a simple test in mkinitrd to abort recursion on swap devices in
dm() would solve the conflict.

What do you suggest?
