But probably this is not kdeinit fault. kdeinit is a helper process for launching several different tasks. So the next time you see that behavior check the actual commandline of the kdeinit process (e.g. through ps or /proc/PID/cmdline where PID is the kdeinit's process ID). Cheers, Kevin
