I've had this same problem too, so I've been watching this thread with 
interest.

Has anyone reverted to the "nv" driver to see if the problem still 
occurs? Well, I guess I seem to be volunteering myself... Ok, if I 
can lose everything I'm working on to test it for a few hours, I 
will. Hopefully someone with fewer open sessions will get to it 
first. :^)
