Because a CD-ROM is read-only, files copied back from a CD are also
read-only. This is something to keep in mind when making/retrieving
backups and archives.
Zip and tar files don't have that problem, because permissions are
saved along with the files themselves. I archive my ~/.kde directory
in a .zip file, and extracting the bookmarks file works just fine if
I need to restore it.
This might be why the error says "permissions".
