Okay, so my stock Debian kernel config shows the following:
CONFIG_PREEMPT_NONE=y
# CONFIG_PREEMPT_VOLUNTARY is not set
# CONFIG_PREEMPT is not set
# CONFIG_PREEMPT_BKL is not set
So, I presume they are not compiled for desktop use then? Has anyone
filed a wishlist bug to get a set of kernels that are pre-emptive?
