Sid: K3b audio CD problem

Hi. Tracking Sid, up to date, kernel 2.6.15-686
Today is the first time I tried to write an audio CD from an mp3 that
didn't work. K3b reports the job as completed successfully, but
there's nothing but dead air.
When I play the CD in a standard player, it correctly reports the
number of tracks, but then just sits there. No sound, and the clock
doesn't update either so the player seems to know there's nothing
there.
Anyone else having that problem? I've wasted several disks trying
different combinations of splitting tracks and such, with no effect.
