Use
View -> View Mode -> Embedded Advanced Text Editor
That is always very quick. You could probably assign a shortcut key to that.
As for making the embedded editor (the faster one for viewing) the default for
use with "view Source", I'm not sure. It looks like "profilerc" in your .kde
might have something to do with that ...
