cdrom module loading causes hangup

I tried posting this to the plain user list, but got no response, so
since I think it may be related to konqueror, I decided to try here.

---

I have a new Asus M5N laptop on which I installed Debian Linux. It
works nearly perfectly, except that it hangs for about 10-20 seconds
after I have been using KDE for around 2-3 minutes. I checked
/var/log/message and /var/log/syslog, and it seems to be trying to load
a bunch of cdrom modules, that I don't need.

Anybody have a clue as to what program is trying to load these modules?
And then, anyone have a way to stop the program from trying?

Here is a sample from /var/log/messages

Then after some more searching I posted this:

---

No ideas? Anyone? I found a couple messages saying that it may be the
KDE Audio CD Browser causing the hangup. See link:

http://lists.debian.org/debian-qt-kde/2004/04/msg00183.html

I added the suggested lines to a file in /etc/modutils and ran
update-modules, but I am still seeing the same behavior. Maybe I
should contact a different list, such as the the debian-qt-kde list
that the above message was posted to? Any help would be appreciated.

At this point, I think I am going to try to disable the artsd server
and see if that is where the problem is coming from.
Thanks,
Aaron

Again, I got no responses, so, any ideas here? Disabling artsd did not
help. The computer still tries to load the cdrom modules after
konqueror is started, and it causes my machine to hang for 10-20
seconds.
Thanks,
Aaron
