i've installed alsa with: apt-get install alsa.
Then i added in /modutils/alsa-base :

above snd-pcm snd-pcm-oss
above snd-mixer snd-mixer-oss
above snd-seq snd-seq-oss
# ALSA portion
alias char-major-116 snd
alias snd-card-0 snd-ens1371
# module options should go here
# OSS/Free portion
alias char-major-14 soundcore
alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0
# card #1
alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss
alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss
alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss
--------------------------------------------------------

when i execute alsaconf, it founds the follow sound card:
"ens1371 Ensoniq ES1371 [AudioPCI-97] (rev 06)"

but at the end i've this problem:
"
Building card database..

Running update-modules...
Loading driver...
Starting ALSA.../etc/init.d/alsa: Error: alsactl restore failed with
message 'alsactl: load_state:1134: No soundcards found...'.
done.
Setting default volumes...
Saving the mixer setup used for this in /var/lib/alsa/asound.state.
/usr/sbin/alsactl: save_state:1061: No soundcards found... "
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've tried also with: adduser my-user-name audio
but without success.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
i've no idea what's the problem.
Anyone could help me?
Thanks in advance!!!
