prelinking KDE?
Hi!
I just discovered Debian's prelink-package and tried to prelink my system
mainly to improve KDE app startup times. The first problem I solved was
nVidia's libGL, I recompiled QT without OpenGL support and kdelibs using
the recompiled QT package. (using "dpkg-buildpackage" and "apt-get -b
source")
But now I get
# prelink /usr/bin/konqueror
prelink: /usr/bin/konqueror: Cannot prelink against non-PIC shared library
usr/lib/libkparts.so.2
I even tried configuring kdelibs using --with-pic, but this error still
persists. Any hints?
The packages from Debian SID I use are:
ii prelink 0.0.20031029-3 ELF prelinking utility to speed up dynamic
ii libqt3c102-mt 3.2.1-6 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime version)
ii kdelibs 3.1.4-3 KDE core libraries metapackage
ii kdelibs4 3.1.4-3 KDE core libraries
ii kdebase 3.1.3-1 KDE Base metapackage
ii kdebase-bin 3.1.3-1 KDE Base (binaries)
