Re: EXIF metainfo in kuickshow

I'm not an expert, but I ran "dpkg -p kuickshow" to see what other packages it depends on and got

Depends: imlib11, kdelibs4 (>= 4:3.1.3), libart-2.0-2 (>= 2.3.8), libc6 (>= 2.3.1-1), libfam0c102, libgcc1 (>= 1:3.3.1-0rc1), libjpeg62, libpng12-0 (>= 1.2.5.0-4), libqt3c102-mt (>= 3:3.1.1), libstdc++5 (>= 1:3.3.1-0rc1), libtiff3g, libungif4g (>= 4.1.0b1), libxrender1 (>= 0.8.1), xlibs (>> 4.1.0), zlib1g (>= 1:1.1.4)

Maybe one of those packages is at a different version on sid than on woody. libjpeg62 seems like the one to check first.

I am trying to display images shot with a digital camera in kuickshow.
I have debian woody istalled on my laptop and sid on a desktop pc.

With sid, the images are displayed correctly oriented, i.e. kuickshow honors the orientation bit of the EXIF information inside the image. With woody, it does not. Why? The kuickshow version is the same on both systems (0.8.5) with KDE 3.1.3 on woody and 3.1.2 on sid.

thanks
