RE: KDE hangs - Woody - Updated - status: Okey-Dopey



Thanks to the subtle slap of the clue-stick below it works now.  I had been
having bind problems so my hostname was defined in the hosts file as
127.0.0.1 but my firewall script has a policy of drop and no rules at all
for lo.

'DOH!!!

Thanks for the help.  I'll go back to trying to screw up bind now.

Hmm, check if your system can resolve the hostname locally, i.e. that the
hostname is part of /etc/hosts and either resolves to the fixed IP
address or, if you used DHCP, to 127.0.0.1
