KDE apps launch lasts forever
Hi
For some 2 weeks since the last apt-get upgrade (unstable) any time I
launch an application within KDE, the CPU utilization goes to 100% and
stays there 5-20 seconds. Especially konqueror and kfm are prone to this,
but any other application lasts a lot longer to launch than it used to be.
It seems that it does not matter whether kdeinit starts the application or
it is called directly (like kfloppy) - it all lasts at least 5 seconds on
an otherwise fast machine (512 Mbyte RAM, 1 GHz Duron). The more processes
start (like kio_thumbnail or kio_file), the longer it takes to start up.
Opening up let's say, five separate konqueror windows with images to
display hampers the machine for minutes.
ii kdebase 3.1.2-1 KDE Base metapackage
ii kdebase-bin 3.1.2-1 KDE Base (binaries)
ii kdebase-data 3.1.2-1 KDE Base (shared data)
and all other KDE packages rae 3.1.2-1 as well.
Any hints?
Cheers
Mark
