Why not? Its in the standard debian distributions


Probably just lack of experience with the tools.  I am using whatever
combination of apt-get, dpkg and kpackage I can get to work.  The
situation I have currently gives:

joy:/home/paul# apt-get -f install libglib2.0-dev
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:

  kdeutils: Depends: kdessh (>= 4:3.0.99+cvs20021227-0woody1) but it is

            Depends: kedit (>= 4:3.0.99+cvs20021227-0woody1) but it is
