Re: KDE 2.2 hanging on startup

Just to follow up on this, I also just now upgrading the system to KDE 
3.0.3 from kde.org's debs to see if that would fix the problem, but it 
didn't work.  Now .xsession-errors has:

knotify cannot connect to XServer :0
DCOP aborting call from anonyomous -8262 to unknown
ERROR: KUnique Application DCOP communication error
kdeinit: Communication error with launcher!  Exiting

So please, I begging.  Does anybody have suggestions on how to go about 
fixing this?  Is this the wrong forum for me to ask the question?  I'm 
pretty new to debian and a "rm -rf /" is looking increasingly likely. :(
