Thanks, to set the record straight, my mistake :(
It is Kmail that does not start while Knode does start using the 'run
as a different user' option. I do use your suggestion (or something
close anyway) now and it works. This is such a nice feature I would
like to figure out why it doesn't work as intended, and of KDE apps
tested, only for kmail.
