On the other hand: If you have a desktop system that is not powered on
24 hours a day (remember we're talking KDE here, i.e. desktop systems),
and you have installed anacron for the sake of good housekeeping (until
I installed anacron, files in my /var/log were just growing), the 
crontab.daily stuff will hit you a couple of minutes after you switch on
your system for the first time in 24 hours (or something like that).

So, handling expensive cron jobs on desktop systems is not that easy...
