 Well, I copied this and put it into my /usr/lib/ directory and it worked, 
but why did I need to do this? There were several other .la files there, and 
they all seem to have been created by libtool. Why was libjpeg.la missing? 

I know my ignorance is showing, but if you don't ask, you can't learn.

Anyway. At least I got to see kdevelop compile and run a blank kde app! Way 
cool. Now if I can jsut figure out how to put my program into this framework 
kdevelop has made.
