Looks like there isn't a "kde" way to do that, at least via the kcontrol.
And after some extensive searching on the 'net, I can't find a non-kde way to
do it :-( However, if this really bugs you, see
http://bugs.kde.org/db/34/34346.html and possible add your own comments/vote
for this wishlist bug.
