I may be wrong, but I think that a file is wrongly named. It's in the kmidi package : kmidi looks for /etc/kde2/timidity.cfg, and don't start because this file doesn't exist...... In fact, this file is, but it's not the same name : /etc/kde2/ktimidity.cfg And this file begin like this : # $Id: timidity.cfg,v 1.4 Kmidi works if you rename the file.... So, rename it into timidity.cfg, and everything should be fine. version : ii kmidi 2.2.0-final-1
