Hello,

thank you to all who helped me.

As everybody finally succeeded teaching me, the first install of anything with
packages you need to get off the net, should be done by adding the relevant
line to sources.list, and then use dselect to update and install.

I got KDE 2.1.1 installed almost successfully this way.

Making an installation CD out of what you got off the net is an entirely
different problem.
