New libfreetype6 version DOES work
As an update to an earlier post, the most recently version of
libfreetype6 in unstable (see below), DOES work with the latest KDE
packages from unstable and with anti-aliased fonts. Note that this is
126.96.36.19910312, and NOT 188.8.131.5210308.
Also please note that the latest KDE packages (4:184.108.40.206-5)
automatically turns off the anti-aliased fonts, and moves the option
back into the Control Panel/Style panel. Don't B&M before you go
looking for it as I almost did :D
