  You seem to have anti-aliasing activated on Debian, which why it looks much 
better, whereas it is not used on Slackware. There is, on kcontrol, an option 
to activate/disactivate the use of AA. I think it is in the "Style" module, 
but I'm not sure (I don't have it here).
