I fixed the problem myself. In fact is was very easy, I should have fixed it earlier. gerralt@gdevree:/dev$ ls -l dsp* crw-rw-rw- 1 root audio 14, 3 Jul 5 2000 dsp crw-rw---- 1 root audio 14, 19 Jul 5 2000 dsp1 crw-rw---- 1 root audio 14, 35 Jul 5 2000 dsp2 crw-rw---- 1 root audio 14, 51 Jul 5 2000 dsp3 So I added some userers to group audio in /etc/group and now kmix works!
