tempo fa io non riuscivo a compilare perche' il tar.gz da kernel.org che avevo scaricato era corrotto e mancavano dei pezzi
se vai in /usr/src/linux/drivers ci stanno la dir ed il file su cui il compilatore ti da' errore?
