Compilazione AbiWord: errore glib non trovato

Scaricati e scompattati i sorgenti di AbiWord 0.9.4.1  (debianizzato per
potato ho trovato solo AbiWord 0.7.7  :-(  ), come da istruzioni faccio  cd
abi, ./autogen.sh e quindi ./configure .  Quest'ultimo comando si lamenta della
seguente libreria mancante:

checking for glib >= 1.2.0... configure: error: Did not find glib installed


Cerco con dselect la libreria mancante, trovo:

Il punto è che libglib1.2 è installata!  Cos'è che non va?  E` un'altra
libreria che mi serve, se si qual'è?
