Debian 2.2r2 : Scheda PCI e IRQ

aluto alle ML,
mi hanno regalato una stampante IBM a modulo continuo, avendo già una Epson su porta parallela ho comprato una scheda PCI con una porta parallela ed una seriale installandola su una porta PCI, per la cronaca quella di mezzo(scheda madre Asus p5a-b).
Ho inserito nel file modules.conf le seguenti righe

alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
options parport_pc io=0x3bc,0x378 irq=7,auto,auto

Ho provato anche a modificare il primo indirizzo seguendo le dritte del Linux How-to(Libro) ma l'errore persiste al boot ho il mex :

Come posso individuare l'indirizzo esatto della porta?
Come assegno eventualmente l'IRQ ?
Cosa posso leggere ?
